Coorparoo has some beautiful old cottages and bungalows tucked in between the new apartments. Before a small hiccup becomes a big job, give us a call. We're a short drive away in Morningside.
You'll know when we're arriving. Your plumber will explain the problem in plain English and give you a fixed price before any work starts, and they'll respect your home while they're in it.

1890s cottages, 1920s bungalows and new apartments
In Coorparoo's older houses, decades-old sewer and stormwater joints are where tree roots find a way in. A camera inspection before you renovate or extend shows what's under the slab, and we'll price each option so you can choose.
In the apartment blocks, a fault inside your own unit is generally yours, while shared pipes on common property are usually the body corporate's. Our guide on who is responsible for blocked drains explains the usual split.
Half of Coorparoo homes are now flats or apartments (49.9% at the 2021 Census), but the older streets go back a long way. Council's heritage records describe Mecklenburg's Cottage on Temple Street, built around 1894, and Neilson's Cottage on Stanley Street East as rare intact nineteenth-century homes, with interwar homes like Camoola on Chatsworth Road following in the 1920s.
Water supply in Coorparoo
Coorparoo is supplied by Urban Utilities. South East Queensland water is classed as hard to moderately hard, which Urban Utilities notes can cause scaling inside hot water systems and kettles.
The property owner is responsible for the pipes on their side of the water meter and sewer connection point, and Urban Utilities for the meter and everything beyond it. In a unit complex that connection point is usually on common property, and Urban Utilities says complexes may have a meter for each unit, either near the unit or in a shared meter cabinet. A leak in the street or footpath goes to Urban Utilities on 13 23 64 (24/7); a meter that keeps ticking over when nothing is running points to a hidden leak on your side, which our leak detection team can find.
Close to half (44.6%) of Coorparoo homes are rented. We can't take bookings from tenants, so if you rent, please contact your property manager or landlord first.
