Windsor plumbers for old brick homes and new units
Windsor has some of the oldest homes in this part of the north side, many built from local brick and still standing proud. They've stood the test of time, though the plumbing underneath hasn't always kept up. Whether you're buying, renovating or just wondering why the laundry drain is so slow, we'll help you find out what's really going on under there.
Your plumber will arrive in the window we give you, explain what they find, and give you a fixed price before any work starts. We treat your home like a home, not a worksite, and leave it clean.

Brick and timber homes, unit blocks and old sewer lines
Under the older houses, decades-old sewer and stormwater joints are where tree roots find a way in, and a camera inspection before you renovate shows what's there. We'll give you the options with a price for each.
In a unit, a fault inside your own home is generally yours, while shared pipes on common property are usually the body corporate's. Our guide on who is responsible for blocked drains explains the usual split.
Windsor is split almost evenly between houses and units (49.4% and 45.4% at the 2021 Census). Some of its houses are among the oldest on the north side: Council's heritage records describe Fernfield on Bryden Street, built in 1873 from local brick, as one of the oldest houses in the Windsor-Lutwyche district.
Water supply in Windsor
Windsor is supplied by Urban Utilities. South East Queensland water is classed as hard to moderately hard, which Urban Utilities notes can cause scaling inside hot water systems and kettles.
The property owner is responsible for the pipes on their side of the water meter and sewer connection point, and Urban Utilities for the meter and everything beyond it. In a unit complex that connection point is usually on common property, and Urban Utilities says complexes may have a meter for each unit, either near the unit or in a shared meter cabinet. A leak in the street or footpath goes to Urban Utilities on 13 23 64 (24/7); a meter that keeps ticking over when nothing is running points to a hidden leak on your side, which our leak detection team can find.
More than half (54.8%) of Windsor homes are rented. We can't take bookings from tenants, so if you rent, please contact your property manager or landlord first.
